Avondale Early College

The early college Program, available to Avondale High School students, is possible through a partnership between Rochester University and Avondale School District. The program is for student interested in earning an Associate Degree from Rochester University while earning their high school diploma from Avondale High School.
  • The program is FREE to Avondale High School students
  • Options to earn up to 60 transferable college credits, an Associate Degree, or pursue a program of study that allows students to apply to the Rochester College of Nursing a year early!
  • Students must take a fifth year of high school to complete the program and received their high school diploma and Associate Degree
  • While enrolled in the program, and until students complete their 4th year of high school, they are able to participate in extra-curricular clubs and athletics
  • Student participate in graduation and other "senior year" activities with their "graduating class"
  • Student receive support to develop "college skills"

21st Century Pathways 


Designed to provide guidance and support to students during their 9th and 10th grade years, 21st Century Pathways increases the chance for student success in 11th and 12th grades.  

The program focuses on: 
  • Academic Preparation and Alignment
  • 21st Century Skill Development:  Creativity, communications, collaboration and critical thinking
  • Social Maturity and Development: Maturity responsibility, self-advocacy, self-awareness and interpersonal skills
Students will explore educational experiences including:
  • Oakland School Technical Programs
  • Avondale Early College
  • Project Lead the Way
  • Dual Enrollment
  • Advanced Placement Courses
