Avondale Board of Education

The Avondale Board of Education aims to ensure a quality education for every student within the Avondale School District. The Board of Education consists of members working hard to establish goals, strategies, and achievement-driven actions through meetings and strategic planning.

The public is encouraged to attend Board of Education meetings, as our community's input on education matters is incredibly valuable to our district. During each meeting, time is set aside for community members to address the Board with questions, opinions, and ideas to improve the educational opportunities and experiences of our students.

2026 Superintendent Search

Avondale School Board Seeks Input in Superintendent Search

The Avondale Board of Education has begun the search process to find a new superintendent. Assisting the Board is the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), a service organization that supports the work of school boards throughout Michigan.

As the profile of the ideal candidate is developed, the board will be soliciting community and staff input. Residents of the district, all staff and administration are encouraged to participate in the process.

An online survey will be available at the following URL from February 25-March 5, 2026: https://masb.jotform.com/260494336386869

Survey responses are sent directly to MASB in Lansing for tabulation. The Board will publicly consider the input received and develop a Candidate Profile, which will guide the process as candidates are recruited and selected for public interview. The board expects to select the new superintendent to begin in July, 2026.

Board Meetings

The public is invited and encouraged to attend Avondale Board of Education meetings. The Board recognizes the value to school governance of public comment on education matters. During the meeting, there is designated time for the public to address the Board.

Avondale Board of Education meetings are typically held the first and third Tuesday of the month at 7pm at the Avondale Administration Offices (2940 Waukegan Street, Auburn Hills, MI 48326) or in one of our school buildings. Please see the meeting schedule for the location of specific meetings.
