Welcome, Catherine Kochanski!

Cathy Kochanski was recently selected as the next Superintendent of Avondale School District. 

Catherine “Cathy” Kochanski serves as Superintendent of Avondale School District, bringing more than three decades of experience in public education, instructional leadership, and school administration.

Prior to joining Avondale, Mrs. Kochanski served as Assistant Superintendent of Learning Services for Walled Lake Consolidated Schools, where she supported districtwide instructional initiatives, professional learning, curriculum development, and efforts focused on student achievement. Her leadership experience also includes serving as an elementary principal in Rochester Community Schools and Brandon School District, as well as classroom teaching experience in Troy School District.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Kochanski has demonstrated a strong commitment to creating student-centered learning environments, supporting educators, fostering collaboration, and building meaningful partnerships with families and communities.
