2026 Avondale Superintendent Search
The Avondale Board of Education has officially begun the search process to identify the district’s next superintendent. Assisting the Board in this important work is the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), a statewide organization that supports boards of education throughout Michigan.
A key priority in this process is developing a clear profile of the ideal candidate. To ensure the next superintendent reflects the needs and values of our district, the Board is actively seeking input from staff, families, and community members.
Superintendent Search Survey
We encourage all residents, staff, and administrators to participate by completing the online survey available at:

The survey will be open from February 25 through March 5, 2026. Responses are sent directly to MASB in Lansing for tabulation. The Board will publicly review the input received and use it to develop a Candidate Profile, which will guide recruitment efforts and the selection of candidates for public interviews.
Input Sessions
In addition to the survey, the Board will host the following opportunities for input:
Staff Input Sessions: March 3 (11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) at Avondale High School
Community Forum: March 9 at 6:00 p.m.
In person at the Board Administration Office
Virtual option via Zoom (link and additional details will be shared soon)
A full timeline of the superintendent search process can be found below for your reference. Key milestones include the application deadline in April, first and second round interviews in May, and final selection and contract approval later that month. The Board anticipates the new superintendent will officially begin on July 1, 2026.
