2026 Avondale Superintendent Search
The Avondale Board of Education has officially begun the search process to identify the district’s next superintendent. Assisting the Board in this important work is the Michigan Association of School Boards (MASB), a statewide organization that supports boards of education throughout Michigan.
Candidate Profile
A key priority in this process has been developing a clear profile of the ideal candidate. To ensure the next superintendent reflects the needs and values of our district, the Board has actively sought input from staff, families, and community members through a community survey and input sessions.
Superintendent Search Survey
A staff and community survey was open from February 25 through March 5, 2026. Responses were sent directly to MASB in Lansing for tabulation. The Board publicly reviewed the input received and used it to develop a Candidate Profile.
Input Sessions
In addition to the survey, the Board hosted the following opportunities for input:
Staff Input Sessions: March 3, 2026 (11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) at Avondale High School
Community Forum: March 9, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
Timeline
A full timeline of the superintendent search process can be found below for your reference. Key milestones include the application deadline in April, first and second round interviews in May, and final selection and contract approval later that month. The Board anticipates the new superintendent will officially begin on July 1, 2026.
