Avondale GATE Magnet School Once Again Ranked Among Top Schools in Michigan

Schools are ranked based on state assessment performance and how effectively they support student learning and growth. Rankings consider both the percentage of students scoring proficient or above in mathematics and reading/language arts, as well as how those results compare across schools with similar socioeconomic factors. This means that top-ranked schools not only achieve high academic outcomes, but also demonstrate success in helping all students thrive.

This year, GATE Magnet School students again demonstrated exceptional academic achievement:

97% of students scored at or above the proficient level in mathematics98% scored at or above the proficient level in reading

These scores place GATE among the highest-performing schools in Michigan — tying for the 3rd highest elementary math and reading proficiency rates statewide and the 2nd highest math and reading proficiency among middle schools.
