Why is Avondale schools a great place to work?
It’s family. I’m sure you’ve heard a lot from other employees but it’s the family that you seem to actually feel that you’re part of there hasn’t been this is my fourth school in my 13 years of teaching but it’s the only school that I have felt like I have a home within the school and with the staff and with the students.
Why is Avondale school is a great place for students?
The diversity. Seeing the amount of diversity that students are exposed to on a regular basis gives me hope for a future exposed to different cultures and many different ways of life. It gives me hope that they are becoming more understanding of things and have empathy.
What’s one word you would use to describe Avondale Schools?
“Family.”
What is one phrase that you would describe as the reason you stay?
“Students and staff. I look forward to seeing my students”
“I was talking with one of my other coworkers about this for a conference, and we were still in the building so I had to walk through my classroom really fast when I walked through my classroom all of the kids lit up and I love having that type of relationship and feeling of them wanting to see you really cool.
Why should a first year teacher choose Avondale?
I’ll never forget this…before I came here I met somebody that graduated from Avondale and she told me you have to go to Avondale because you don’t see that much diversity in school that often anymore.
