New Elementary Leadership
Several elementary schools will begin the year with new leadership. Shalonda Byas will serve as Principal of R. Grant Graham Elementary, while Dr. Jamie Brooks will lead Auburn Elementary as Principal. Both bring valuable experience and unique strengths to their new school communities.
At GATE Magnet School, Angela Castaldi will transition to a full-time Assistant Principal role, allowing her to focus exclusively on supporting GATE students, staff, and families.
Graham Elementary will also welcome Tarah Erickson as the Dean of Students. Tarah has spent more than two decades working with elementary students across grades K-6 and is excited to partner with Graham staff and families to build a vibrant, joyful community where every child can shine.
New Faces at the District Office

Jillian spent much of her career working in the operating room before transitioning to support roles in education. She is excited to build relationships, deepen her expertise, and become part of the Avondale family.
